What our customers say about us

“One of the best places to rent scooters”

This is one of the best places to rent scooters in Chiang Mai. The owner and his wife are very kind and fair with their prices. They only had 1 helmet left and it was too big, so they bought me a new smaller one that fit perfectly

Jeremy Dixon

The bikes are amazing quality and the owners are so helpful, any issues you have they will help you at the drop of a hat. Trust worthy and reliable bikes very grateful for the help!

“They didn't charge us for the scratches”

Very cheap! Great Service. They were much cheaper than the other rental shops in Chiang Mai. They didn't charge us for the scratches we caused too! A+

 Yathida Kn

“scratch insurance included.”

Pleasure renting a scooter here! Easy communication, scratch insurance included. the prices are quite good at daily rate (400 baht/day for pretty new 160cc honda click) and very good at weekly! The owners were so kind to deliver the scooter to my hotel for free. We went to The Samoeng Loop and rode up and down mountain roads with ease.

We require that our bikes stay within Chiang Mai. This is to assure we can support our customers with any problems that may arise. We generally ask that our bikes stay within 30km of the city. This means you can take the bike on the Samoeng Loop but not the Mae Hong Son Loop.

Should I rent a scooter in Chiang Mai?
Absolutely! Chiang Mai truly is a wonderful city but it has no public transport. There are no trains, trams or buses, so a scooter is the cheapest and fastest way to get around. It's also much easier than driving a car or sitting in a taxi! So many times we have been stuck in Traffic on Nimman or in the Old City wishing we were on a bike and not in a car! Riding a scooter in Chiang Mai is a lot of fun too, we much prefer to ride scooter than drive a car here.

Read more about why renting a scooter is essential in Chiang Mai.

What is the best scooter to rent in Chiang Mai?
We have been riding in Chiang Mai for decades on many different types of scooters and motorcycles and we think that the very best scooter you can rent is the Honda Click 160cc. It has more power than the typical 110cc-125cc scooters but is still small and nimble. It's great for cutting through the annoying traffic on Nimman and skipping all the jams in the old city but is still wonderful to ride up to Mon Jam in Samoeng!

Read comparisons about the different types of scooters to rent and what locals think about them.

Do I need a driving license to ride in Chiang Mai?
Yes, legally, to ride and drive in Thailand you are required to have valid International Driving Permit (IDP) or a Thai Driving License. However, the question you are probably more interested in asking is 'What happens if I don't have one?'. Riding a scooter here without a valid license is incredibly common, especially in tourist areas.

Read more about riding here with or without a license.
